Events / Then and Now, exhibit

Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, All Day
February 21 to August 5
Come take a look at some of the innovations that have helped make our lives easier and more enjoyable with the new exhibit Then and Now. Here you will see how innovation has affected home, office and play over the past century.
The difference between then and now is innovation. In society, innovation aids in comfort, convenience and efficiency in everyday life. Innovation takes a new look, generates new ideas, and implements new methods to improve products, processes, and technologies.
Masterminds of innovation harnessed the power of electricity, produced mechanical wonders, made sound travel and discovered waves that cooked. Many items we take for granted every day were once revolutionary for their time. Take the iron. What seems like a simple heat-generating appliance required metallurgic experimentation to develop a wire that could stand up to the intense heat needed.
